In transmission mode:

› Maintain a distance of at least 20 cm from potential sources of disturbance.

› Think about the sensitivity of the avalanche transceiver when equipping yourself. For example, put your smartphone in your right pocket and your avalanche transceiver in your left pocket.

› Check your avalanche transceiver (transmitter and receiver) at the start of the race.

› Use batteries with at least 40% capacity (no accumulators).

In search mode:

› Maintain a minimum distance of 50 cm from the source of disturbance. Every extra centimetre improves the performance of the AVD.

› If you are alone when searching, do not switch off your mobile phone, but keep it away from the avalanche transceiver!

› Even in aeroplane mode, smartphones can cause interference.

› To call for help with a mobile phone, stay at least 25 metres away from the nearest avalanche transceiver in search mode.

› Action cameras must absolutely be switched off during the search.
